Our Spring Break Coronavirus Edition was last week. Grandma Lisa and Papa John came and spent the week with us. Initially, they were going to fly, but when things started getting crazy, they opted to drive instead. Each day, there was a big story in the news--earthquake in SLC, I-80 closed due to blizzard conditions, COVID-19 spiking in Italy, local restaurants and movie theaters now closed, social distancing a must, etc. However, we didn't let the stress around us stop us from having fun! Isaac and his mom baked so many delicious things. I happily offered my custodial services while they did all the baking. :) We watched a movie every night and took a walk every day. We taught Grandma and Papa how to play four square. Best of all, it was great to just be together.

Grandma read Harriet the Spy to the boys. We love her tradition of reading an entire chapter book to them when she comes to visit.
Right now the boys are having their lunch break. We started home school today. So far so good! We'll see what the next Bickmore Buzz says. William helped me refine our schedule. He was very proud when I commented, "Oh yes, your way makes much more sense. I like the flow of it better." He asked a few more times, "So mom, don't you think my way was better?" It was so cute.
I've been feeling a lot of gratitude lately. It can be easy to focus on what we're losing and missing during this pandemic, but for now, I'm feeling peace and gratitude.
My grateful list:
1. The woods and trails surrounding us that offer a reprieve.
2. Our home that is filled with love and safety.
3. The opportunity to teach my children school. The teacher in me was geeking out last night making preparations.
4. The "Come Follow Me" program that has given us a good resource to have church in our homes.
5. Technology that helps us stay connected and allows us to watch whatever we want, whenever we want!
6. SO MUCH MORE.
