The Nitty Gritty

After Disneyland, we stayed a few more days in California to visit with some of my family members.   Here's my Uncle Bob, my mom's older brother. He's had Parkinson's for 21 years and can't walk anymore. He's still handsome as ever. I loved holding his soft hand and visiting with him. He has such a happy spirit like my mom. Van had fun dressing up some dolls with Aunt Gloria. Aunt Gloria, my cousin Marilyn, and Nixon and Van. We took the boys to the Huntington Beach pier. Huntington Beach was the beach we lived by and went to when I was the boys' age.  We also got to see Aunt Betty, my mom's older sister. She treated us to dinner at Marie Callendar's. She's so spry for her age. She drove all the way from Santa Monica to Anaheim to meet up with us. She and my mom talk almost every night so she was updated on my family and knew all about our move to Missouri. It was so nice having Jason's family with us too to see B...

We knew once Isaac got the position at UCM, we had to make one final trip to Disneyland to celebrate all of our hard work! We got to go with Curtis and Sophie's family and Grandpa Steve and Grandma Dana. Curtis and Sophie are pros at Disneyland! I told Isaac the only way we're doing Disney from now on is if we go with season pass holders who know their way around the park. We bought a two day park hopper ticket which was fun because I haven't been to California Adventure since 2004. Using the fast passes we were able to ride all the rides without having to wait in long lines. The longest wait was the Storybook Land ride and that was about 40 minutes since we couldn't use the fast pass for it. William was tall enough for every single ride. Van was too short for Indiana Jones and California Screamin, but was able to ride everything else. It really was a magical experience! We love Disneyland! Ha ha I just remembered as I'm typing this that some of our family got sick...
