The Nitty Gritty

William went to the doctor today and weighed 14 lbs 14 oz and is 25 1/2 inches long. He is in the 75th percentile for his weight and height. That's hard to believe since he was only in the 10th percentile at birth. The doctor was impressed and kept commenting on how cute he is and how well he is doing. She also mentioned starting rice cereal!! It will be so funny to try that. Babies grow way too fast. I feel like Will has made a huge stride in the last week with his interaction. He is cooing and squealing so much. He loves to kick and stomp his legs and is constantly grabbing my hair (maybe I should cut it). The other day I caught him talking to his lovey and stroking its head--so sweet! He always smiles when I yawn loudly or say "zzzzzzzzzzzzzzip" when I zip up his pjs. He enjoys pat a cake, peek a boo, and MUSIC. He rarely fails to start singing when he hears some music. He is also drooling like crazy and loves to suck on his hands. We're getting his 4 month p...

Remember the post about the Crimson 4 ? Well because they are so awesome and because the U of U Singers couldn't do it, but mostly because they are so awesome, the Crimson 4 sang for the Legislature's opening session yesterday. They performed four numbers: The National Anthem, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, Prayer of the Children, and Utah Man. There's a tiny clip of them on KSL.com and this morning while eating my breakfast I heard them on KUER singing Utah Man! The entire recording of all four numbers can be heard on the utah.gov website. BTW-I am so glad to be a homemaker and not a lawmaker! The story on KUER discussed the budget crisis our legislature is facing. They're asking the public for innovative ideas. Here are some new things Will has grown to LOVE. I made two trips to Roy this week and William slept the entire way both times. He loves the car. Kelly, Kemp, and Kerstyn made a surprise visit a few weeks ago. Kerstyn adores Will and always asks to hold him. She loves to give him lots of compliments too i.e. "He's cute" "His onesie is cute" "I like his carseat" "I like his name, it's cute" "His clothes are cute." She is also an excellent helper-throws the diapers away, gets out the wipes, finds his pacifer, etc. I told Kelly I want Kerstyn around all the time! Will's great grandparents Workman gave him the sweetest toy for Christmas. It's a seahorse that glows and plays music when you squeeze it. Will now has a "lovey." Hey y'all! Utah's state legislature wants to make a 15% budget cut and one thing they are discussing is renegotiating teachers' salaries. Governor Huntsman is pushing for 7%, but unfortunately some of the legislators are not as generous as him. If you believe in Utah's children, please email/call your legislator and express your feelings and solutions. The legislative session begins Monday. Thanks!

Today is my hubby's birthday and I want to tell him how much I love him. I knew I wanted to marry Isaac or someone just like him after our first date. I've always felt I could be myself around him and know he'll love me no matter what. Whenever there's a spare moment I love to spend it with Isaac whether it's watching a TV series, playing with William, cuddling, or just making lame jokes. I can't imagine eternity WITHOUT you! Thank you for always caring about me and striving to make me happy. You're the greatest husband and father. Love always, Lesley xoxoxox

Cameron is our friends, Rob and Kim's, son. He was born 3 weeks before Will. He is too cute and we hope they'll stay best buds! Soooo big! Merry Christmas Will! He was so happy when he saw his presents from Santa! Some family members were anxiously awaiting their initial meeting with Will: Uncle Mitch, Aunt Abbey (She loves being the best aunt!), Grandpa Bickmore and Grandpa and Grandma Bickmore! Will enjoyed meeting more people that love and adore him. Great Grandma Orme makes every grandchild an ornament. I was so excited when I saw Will's hanging on her tree. Isn't it sooo cute? Here is William with his awesome cousin Christian. Christian was born 3 weeks after Will. It was too cute to see them on the blanket lying next to each other. They looked like twins! Will is lucky to have two cousins on the Garrett side so close to his age. What a threesome! Ava is in the middle-she's such a sweetie pie. Here we are after William's blessing on Sunday. It was so fun to have all the family there at church with us. What a sweet baby boy.
