Exeter

After a few days in London, we boarded a train in Paddington station and rode to Exeter . It was a beautiful train ride--full of green pastures and grazing sheep. Once we arrived in Exeter we climbed a steep hill to the main road and quickly arrived at our Bed and Breakfast. It's owned by a young married couple. It was my first time staying in a bed and breakfast and I have to admit I fantasized about owning one someday! Isaac began his conference sessions the next day so I ventured out and took some guided walking tours. The weather was perfect. I didn't need a jacket and the air felt so clean and fresh. Everything was within walking distance so I didn't have to worry about riding a city bus or catching a subway. I loved the exercise and walked several miles those few days. 10th Anniversary

This year we celebrated our 10th anniversary! I feel so old. All year I have been trying to think of a fun getaway for just the two of us, but in the end we stayed home and went to dinner and a movie. I loved it!  He also bought me a haircut and facial so I could get pampered before school began.       We went to dinner at the India Oven. We looooooove Indian food-- it has so much flavor and never disappoints. After that we saw The Great Gatsby at the $3 theater. It's not a true dollar theater because it's $3 so we call it the $3 theater...

Adventures, Adventures!

Being married to a musician definitely has its ups. When I first met my hubby, Isaac, he wasn't sure what he wanted to do for a career. He knew that he loved music and that he was good at it. His vocal teachers encouraged him to pursue a career in vocal performance, but we were worried about taking that path because it wouldn't provide a steady income and we'd have to buy a private insurance plan. (Side note: Diabetes sucks, but it has really helped us make smart long term decisions). So, he decided he wanted to teach music, specifically teach Jr. High choir. During his undergraduate studies, he was a member of the University of Utah Singers. The choir director was one of the very best and the choir quickly gained a reputation for their quality sound. Word came that the choir would be competing in an international festival in France. Isaac told me I could come too. I signed up to substitute while I was off track to earn my way to go. My dream of seeing that part of ...
