The Nitty Gritty

For the 24th of July this year, Will and I went to the Ogden Rodeo to see my mom be recognized as one of 25 cancer survivors! The night was themed "Tough Enough to Wear Pink". All 25 women just radiated. It was a beautiful sight. The dramatics of the cowboy country culture made the perfect presentation. My sisters and I sat with the other survivors' families. There wasn't a dry eye in that section of the stands! After the host recognized the survivors he then asked all military to stand. I waved to the sky and cheered for my dad who was a Korean War veteran. I felt so proud to be the daughter of two honored heroes!

There's NEVER a dull moment with these guys. I must admit I am happy to share the name BICKMORE

I've been meaning to post these pictures and now that I'm blogging again, here they are! Isaac, after 7 grueling years, now has a Bachelors degree AND Masters degree!!! He has really worked his butt off ( amazingly he still has a butt) and I'm so happy to have school behind us. Then again, a PhD may become a pursuit. William and I attended the graduation. I sat on the end of the row in case I had to change a diaper or whatever and it happened to be on the aisle where the graduates lined up! So when Isaac marched past I handed William over and he got to graduate with daddy. The audience did this collective "Ahhh" when Isaac received his diploma. Yea Daddy! We love you and are so very proud!!

This year we had all the cousins together at the Orme cabin in Island Park. Will really enjoyed getting to know his adorable cousins from Scotland, Miriam and Evie. I love their Scottish accents and imagination. They are both extremely clever and delightful. We're looking forward to more fun these next few weeks! Don't you think Miriam and William could pass as brother and sister? Miriam trying to get Will in the sprinklers naked said "Let's just give him a go" and began to help him strip down to his diaper. I also love when she coaxes Will with "William do you want a sweetie?" (Sweeties are candy in America) Sweetie pie Evie who told me the other day when I asked for a hug "My hands are full at the moment, but when I put down my things I will give you a hug ok?" 2009 Family Fitness Day http://www.familyfitnessday.blogspot.com/ My sister Lana is in charge of organizing a 5k this year. We went last year and it was so much fun. The Ogden parkway is so beautiful. I wish there were trails like it in the Salt Lake Valley. Isaac's band is providing the live music. If you're pregnant like me or don't feel like running a 5k you can do the 1.5 mile walk/run.
