The Nitty Gritty

Hi everyone! We're looking forward to Grandpa Steve and Grandma Dana's visit this week. This will be the first time Isaac and I eat Thanksgiving dinner in our own home since we've been married. I'm excited to cook some new recipes! I also ordered a tablecloth! Let's hope it arrives on time. Haha! Isaac submitted his final dissertation!! Which means he gets to graduate in December! Woo hoo! Will and Van are so great. Will had so much energy this weekend. He couldn't stop jumping off the couches, acting like a werewolf, talking in accents...it wore me out. This week he wanted to wear the same pair of pants three days in a row and we finally put our foot down and said, "No way, you've already worn those the past two days." He loves grape tomatoes. He eats them like candy. He also loves Chex Mix and gets an individual bag in his lunch everyday. He is constantly talking about Terraria and is still working on getting the Terra blade. Hello! We are still cold here, but adjusting slowly. There was one day this week where I didn't have to wear my jacket and the skies were sunny and blue. It felt magical. Arizona always had clear blue sunny skies and I miss that. Isaac is submitting his revised dissertation this Wednesday to ASU. He is looking forward to his graduation in December and starting a new semester. Instead of the collegiate choir, he'll be leading the new technology ensemble. He can't believe how fast the semester has flown by! He just got some new glasses on Friday. We went on a date last night and saw the new Thor movie. I'm enjoying my substitute teaching. On Thursday, I subbed 5th grade. I LOVE subbing the older kids. They are so independent and it was a very respectful class. Hi Family! We've had a busy two weeks! The thing about Halloween is, once it's over, the craziness really begins with Thanksgiving and Christmas. We've been freezing our buns off!! It's been in the 50s and high 40s and we are such babies about the cold. I remember our first winter in Arizona laughing my butt off at everyone bundling up to the max when it was in the 50s and 60s, but now I'm that person!! We are going to be miserable when winter hits. Our friends tell us that it hardly snows here too so it's just cold and miserable. Waaaaa!!! I guess we'll have to have lots of movie parties with treats galore.  The good news is we're getting a new family member for Christmas! Meet Heidi, the Australian Shepherd Poodle! Isn't she so cute?!
