The Nitty Gritty

We had an awesome weekend to close our awesome summer. Friday and Saturday was my 10 year class reunion. This is us on Saturday night at the Timbermine Steakhouse near the mouth of Ogden Canyon. It was our first time to dinner without Will (Thanks mom for babysitting!). I must say it was sooooo wonderful to go out to dinner with my hubby and enjoy friends. We're looking forward to many dates over the next year. It will be much easier to leave Will when he's not nursing. Here we are after we completed our one mile walk Saturday morning at Lana's Family Fitness Day (see post below). What a relief to have our reunion over with. The five lovely people you see above were the stupidos who decided to run for class office not truly thinking about the ramifications of planning future class reunions. My sister Lana organized the Family Fitness Day to raise funds for the Weber County Prevention Services where she works. For her job, she educates the community on living and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. To kick off the Family Fitness Day, she organized a 5k run/one mile walk. The one mile walk was stroller friendly so Will and I walked the mile on the Ogden Parkway. It was beautiful and Will loved watching the river and the trees blowing. My mom got second place in the mile walk and I got sixth (but first place with a stroller! Ha!) My friend Trish signed up for the 5k run and did amazing. Afterwards, there was a raffle, treats, and booths. The Ogden Fire Dept was there to show off the fire engine. Will got to "wear" the fire fighter's helmet. Lana did a tremendous job and everything went soooo smoothly. I can't wait for next year!

WE CAN'T BELIEVE OUR BABY IS TURNING ONE NEXT MONTH!

Abbey is back after a looooong stay in Boston. We are so happy to have her home! She loves being an aunt and it's so sweet to see her with Will. She and Diane came with us last night to "Yellow Snow" in Park City, the new ice cream shop where Isaac gigs. Isaac did a great job going solo on his uke. Abbey feeding Will dairy free blueberry sorbet. Will wasn't too fond of it. Will and Diane being cute. Diane saved me last week when I came down with the stomach flu and couldn't even get out of bed to take care of William. She came over and watched him for a couple of hours. My mother-in-law and friend Lindsay also took turns. Thank goodness for generous family and friends!

Our 6th anniversary was August 2nd! Yay for us. We've done some incredible things together: world traveled (well, only two continents), cruised once, pursued some higher ed degrees, but we both agreed that the happiest memory of our marriage was the day William was born. He definitely brings out the best in both of us.

Here we are at the Blue Plate Diner eating breakfast with some long time friends. They live in California so this was the first time they met William. Every time we get together it seems we've never been apart. Camping at Taylor Grove with Uncle Craig, Aunt Lana, Natalie, and the Lewis's. Good thing Trish came prepared! Will came down with a 103 degree fever and she had motrin to save the day. Here's Will all filthy at his first camp out. We had such a great time. I especially loved tubing down the river with my lady friends. We went with Uncle Mitch to the MLS All Star Game. The new soccer stadium is awesome! Will loved every second of it. Future soccer player Swimming at our city pool. Isaac's been doing a music camp the past few weeks. He's had a great time and hope it continues each summer.
