The Nitty Gritty

I knew 2010 would be a great year. Here is what I am excited about happening: a trip to Louisiana in two weeks to visit my in-laws a trip to Minnesota with my mom to visit family I haven't seen in the past 15 years House hunting!!! Isaac earning a masters degree which means a pay raise The Scottish family coming to visit Another addition to the family in the fall to snuggle and love Will's 2nd birthday My 29th birthday (I've loved my twenties!) I love you 2010! May everyone's dreams come true this year.

I got a new way to walk. Walk. WALK! Does anyone else remember that song off of Sesame Street? It's been the theme song around here lately because Will is finally WALKING! He took his first few steps the night of Grandpa Garrett's memorial service and didn't do much beyond that for about a month. THEN on March 4th (one month after GG died-maybe he's getting help from heaven!) he figured out how to stand up from sitting position--a key step he needed to master to start walking. It was so funny when he finally did it. He was so proud of himself! I was proud of him too! Second adventure: Will is entering nursery at the end of the month! I've been taking him the past two Sundays and staying with him to get him ready for this huge step. I even teared up when he was sitting all big in the chair listening to the lesson. The last Saturday in February we went to Hogle Zoo! Will hadn't been to the zoo yet and it was the perfect day to go. The weather was pleasant and hardly anyone was there. I was surprised how many animals we got to see despite the time of year. We loved seeing the baby animals. Between the tiger cubs Hungry baby giraffe When Will saw the elephants he kept raising his arm and making the trumpet-like elephant noise. I swear we spent 15 minutes just watching the cute baby elephant. He was so fascinated. So cute and tiny!

The Saturday before Valentine's Day/President's Day we went with Deacon to the Gateway Discovery Museum. It was NUTS. Kids and parents galore. Will had a swell time playing with the giant ball machine. Sophie and I agreed that it was fun, but only a once a year type of deal. Lo and behold Trish called the following Wednesday and invited us to go since she had a 2 for 1 deal. So we went! Since it was less crowded Will had the chance to play with more things. He especially loved the water tubs. Vroom vroom! will loves cars! Mommy and Will making music splashing away!

Elmo needed to be washed. Will was very distraught. He kept crying "ELMO!" Sweet reunion.
