Less than three weeks to go!

Image
Here's a picture of me at 35 weeks. Saturday we went to Lana's Family Fitness Day. Isaac and Rob (aka The Well-Known Facts) provided the music. Initially I planned on walking the mile walk, but when I ran out of breath walking through the grocery store I knew there was no way I was pushing Will in a stroller for a mile. Trish and Natalie participated in the 5k and reached their goals! You go girls! Here I am in Isaac's shirt at 37 weeks! My mom was proud to win an award for her age group. No matter how much she says she feels so out of shape, this is proof that she is still a strong woman! Well we're finalizing things around here before baby boy #2 arrives. I've washed all of his clothes, blankets, bedding, and Isaac readjusted the infant car seat buckles. The weather has cooled down and I realized Will has no fall clothes so I'll need to do shopping for him. I have not bought one single outfit for the new baby because I haven't needed to. So nice. I've ...

A lot happens in 9 months

About 9 months ago when I announced we were having another baby it felt so awkward because we already had a baby--William. Others have reminded me throughout this pregnancy that "it won't be so bad by the time you have your baby because Will is going to be almost two and he won't seem like such a baby." Today while I was resting on the couch (something that happens a lot lately) I noticed how tall William looked. Then I reflected back to 9 months ago and was thinking about what he wasn't doing yet. Here's Will 9 months ago: Not walking sitting in a rear-facing carseat not in church nursery couldn't use utensils obsessed with Elmo hadn't had his first haircut yet allergic to dairy and eggs Now Will can do LOTS of things, like-- WALK use utensils and put them in the sink when they're dirty put garbage in the garbage (good training for when he'll help put dirty diapers in the trash) repeat pretty much whatever you tell him to say. In fact, the co...

7 years!

Happy Anniversary to us! August 2nd was our 7th anniversary. I can't believe it's been that long already. This fall will mark 11 years since we first met. Isaac is definitely my best friend. He always listens, helps, and comforts. He inspires me to be better in many ways--specifically to treat all people with kindness. He is a wonderful father to William and is the only one that can get him to giggle like crazy. I love you Isaac!

Teeny Tiny Super Guy

Yesterday we took Will to his yearly allergist appointment. They do a skin test where they place different allergens on his back and if a hive appears, he is allergic to that food/animal. We were a bit nervous this time since he is older and can more easily scratch at his back. I figured if we had something to distract him he could sit through the 20 minutes of itchy back without any problems so we packed up the laptop, Shrek 2, and fruit snacks. Will did a fine job and didn't try to scratch at his back once. The nurse was impressed and I was proud. RESULTS of the test: No hive appeared by dairy and eggs which means Will may have outgrown those allergies. However, he is now allergic to peanuts. Ugh! I was so hoping we wouldn't have to worry about that one. Anyway, our doctor said in order to be sure he has outgrown the dairy and egg allergy Will would need to have his blood drawn at St. Mark's or Primary Children's. Since we were right by St. Mark's we agreed to ...
