The Nitty Gritty

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Isaac and the boys had the day off, but not me! Van and Will have been wanting to meet my students so they came in for two hours today and hung out with the class. Van read them a story while they ate their lunch. They did the paint project, ate snack, participated in music and dance, and helped the kids put their shoes back on. They both looked enormous compared to the tiny preschoolers. Isaac did the music lesson for me. They loved it. So ya! It was nice sharing part of the school day with my family. Last week seemed like the longest week ever! It was Isaac's first week back to work. With the cold weather and different schedule, we had to be more on top of it with transportation. We've been able to make do with one car so on days when Isaac teaches at 8:00 am and it's too icy and cold for him to ride his bike, everyone has to be ready to leave by 7:30. Who would've thought leaving 15 minutes earlier would be so difficult? Last sem...

This is us the day before Isaac's birthday. We usually do a certain loop on our bikes and Isaac suggested we bike to Pertle Springs. I was hesitant because that's how I usually am with change. He encouraged me and insisted that it would be fun and not too hard--my legs are weak and there's so many hills in this town! I obliged and I'm so glad I did. It was a beautiful ride! I was huffin it and Isaac was easily biking up all the hills. Ha! Isaac doesn't start back to school until tomorrow so we've had afternoons together. He drops me off and picks me up from work. Barb, at the front desk, announces, "Your chariot awaits!" and I know Isaac has arrived to pick me up. He patiently waits for me to get things settled before I grab my things to go.  Happy Birthday to my best friend! Isaac is such a loving and supportive husband. December was a busy, but simple month for us. We spent time together doing the fun Christmas stuff--watching movies, baking treats for friends, going on walks, seeing the lights, etc.  Opening our package from Grandpa Steve--UNLV hoodies  Can you see the blue heron? We walked around the lake at Pertle Springs one day after school.  Van had his Christmas music performance. His favorite songs were "Naughty or Nice" and "Venite".  The boys have been taking piano lessons from Miss Jenae since September. They had a winter recital and did a great job! I loved their bows at the end. We went with the Sentgeorge's to Kansas City to see a Christmas Lights display at the golf course. You had to stay in your car and watch the lights from the car.
