The Nitty Gritty

William is a whoppin 8 months! Can you believe it? Everyone tells me "That's a fun age!" It's so true. My favorite thing is when he says "Ba ba ba ba" with this face that looks like an old grandpa without his dentures. I'll have to capture it on video one of these days. Here are some FAQs about William: 1. Is he crawling? No, he prefers rolling. 2. Does he say mama or dada? Only ba ba ba. Sometimes ma ma ma ma 3. What foods does he eat? Peas, applesauce, avocado, pears, squash, bananas, prunes, peaches, rice cereal. He is getting good at drinking from a sippy cup. 4. Does he pick things up? He successfully fed himself 3 "Puffs" (the Gerber finger foods) and is constantly picking up things--mostly toys. Thankfully he leaves the teeny tiny scraps on the floors. 5. Is he teething? Yes. His two front bottom teeth are in. 6. How is he sleeping at night? Lately--wonderfully. He sleeps eight straight hours which is great for me! 7. Does he do math...

Last week was my first Mother's Day as a mom! It was awesome. Will knew it was Mother's Day because he would not stop cuddling me. It was tooooo sweet. I even posted a picture to prove it. See him cuddling me while I lounged in bed and watched The Sound of Music? The Saturday before Mother's Day I went out to lunch with my mom and sister. My mom gave me a beautiful willow statue and my older sister gave me flowers and a card with a message that instantly turned on the water works. It said "Sister, thinking of you on Mother's Day- We shared a lot of dreams with each other when we were growing up...and it's nice to see the ways that yours have come true! Happy Mother's Day." That is definitely the truth. My dreams have come true! I love my life and I'm so thankful for every second of it. Here we are at Great Grandma and Grandpa Orme's. Well, almost. I still have two summer courses, but since SUU only has one graduation ceremony I walked this past Saturday and got a pretend diploma. It all started two years ago when Dana suggested I get my ESL endorsement and do the Masters program that came along with it (Thank you Dana!). My initial reaction was "Ya right. Who has time for that?" Then about 5 minutes later I realized what a sensible endeavor it was. It's been a very doable program, designed to help teachers obtain their Masters degree in an affordable and accommodating way. I love this picture because it's so cute of William and William and Isaac have been with me through it all. Well, William came about three-fourths of the way. I just hope he's a billion times smarter after all the lectures he heard in the womb!
