The Nitty Gritty

I can't believe I have TWO kids. The other day when Isaac was home I ran some errands with just Will and it was such a breeze! The number one question I'm asked lately is "How is everyone adjusting?" The answer is "We're adjusting just fine." I think week 3 when Van was home was the hardest because I came down with the stomach flu, it was a rainy week, and it was the first time it was just me and the kids all alone. I'm pretty sure I cried everyday that week. Lately life has been much better because the weather's been great, I have more energy, I know what Van likes/dislikes, and Will is much more accepting of the new baby brother at home. It's nice that I have wonderful kids and a helpful husband to help me through the process. Here is William. When he found this hat he called himself "Pete Prospector" (Toy Story 2). Will loves his baby brother. He loves to rub Van's tummy and say "Ah sweetie pie. Hi sweetie!" The other morning Van was laying in my bed. Will ran to his crib and when he discovered Van wasn't there said "He's lost!" He's very patient when Van cries. One of the many terrific things about Will is he's always been self-entertaining so if I have to tend to Van, Will is so good about doing his own thing-- which usually consists of flying Buzz Lightyear around. Everyday we hear something about Deacon and Sophie. It might be Will wanting to thank Heavenly Father for them during the prayer or "I want to go Deacon's house" or " I love Deacon! I love Sophie!" Will idolizes Deacon and thinks Aunt Sophie is the coolest. I'm so glad we live close so Will can play with his cousin Deacon.

On Will's real 2nd birthday, Great Grandma and Grandpa Orme came to visit and meet Van. They treated us to lunch and we had a wonderful time. Will kept saying all afternoon "Grandpa Orme!" I'm so happy Will and Van have 3 sets of GREAT grandparents. Our adorable 2 year old Great grandmother with newest great grandbaby

Dear Lesley, I wish I could accurately describe how in-awe-of you I am. Watching you give birth to Van was an amazing experience for me. In Spanish when a woman gives birth they say she gives light or que ella “da luz”. I think that is a more accurate way to describe what went on and a more beautiful way to describe you and your relationship to my life and to those around you.
