The Nitty Gritty

Happy Easter Family! We've had such a fun weekend. The boys and I had Friday off. We went on a long walk together, ate lunch and then they played at their friend's house for a bit. That night we went to the Knob Noster campground with those same friends (The Huff's) and had a cookout with s'mores. My friend that is also the assistant teacher at preschool was there too with her family so we all hung out together for awhile. Saturday morning, we went to an egg hunt at Marr Park. The boys each found 7 eggs. Later that day, we went to the Hoogestrat's, a family in our ward that fills 6,000 eggs and hides them all over their property. They also hide 16 golden eggs that have a number inside. That number will then be turned in for a gift card or cash prize. That way, the adults and youth can hunt too. WELL, I learned last year that they hide those golden eggs REALLY well so this year I came prepared with my grubby jeans and shoes. After searching a long time through the ...

Hi Family! Spring is here! Yay! I love being back in a state with four distinct seasons. The spring blossoms are BEAUTIFUL.  We planted a vegetable garden on Saturday--tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, strawberries, peppers,  cucumbers, garlic, onions, raspberries and blueberries! Let's hope it turns out delicious. Isaac built a garden box and a cage to go over it to keep out the bunnies. We also want to plant a cherry tree, sunflowers, herbs, and wildflowers that attract butterflies and honeybees. Friday night Isaac and I sang at Cafe Blackadder--our favorite restaurant here in town. It took some adjusting to--singing at a restaurant while everyone was eating, but by the second set, we were awesome! There were technical difficulties so only one microphone worked, but it worked out great. We scored a free meal and $20 in tips. We bought some gelato at Spin Pizza afterward with our tip money.  We have another gig in May at the UCM choral gala. They wanted so...
