Yesterday was Van's 6th birthday! We love our Van the Man so much! Here is how our day went celebrating the birth of this wonderful boy:

| William helped us decorate the kitchen the night before. Van wanted a Herobrine (character from minecraft) birthday. We made a poster, drew characters on balloons, and wrapped his presents! |

| Van was jumping up and down when he woke up and found the kitchen decorated for his birthday! |

| Van was stoked about his new Mario costume that he asked for. After his pancake birthday breakfast, we went to the Arizona Science Museum!! |
 |
| He wore his costume to the museum and told the lady at the front desk that it was his birthday. She gave him that giant sticker that said "It's my Birthday". People kept saying, "Happy Birthday Mario!" It was a free day at the museum so lots of people were there. The museum was awesome and had a ton of fun exhibits. |

| This station was a test to see how well you could focus your mind. It reminded us of the Force. If your mind was calmer, the ball would roll away from you. William beat an older kid. He felt so proud! |

| Van grabbed his cheeks to help him focus. He lost the game. :( |

| Our neighbor, Paisley, has the same birthday as Van. She turned 2. Her mom, Susannah, planned an awesome party for her family and friends. It was at our church building. There was laser tag, a bounce house, pizza, cake, and a piñata. Van's friends from primary were there. It worked out perfectly! I didn't have to plan a thing and Van got to play with his friends for two hours. After the party we came home, played video games, ate Van's favorite dinner--sausage casserole--and then went to Carminati's PTO night at Costco. It was a marvelous day. |

| This morning when Van was getting ready for church, he wanted to look like a missionary. He made his own paper tag that said, "Elder Van". I clipped it to his front pocket for him. |

| He also wanted to make a picture of Jesus for his primary teacher. |
 |
| After church, Scott, Karla, and Brittany came over and spent the afternoon with us. We had such a good time! They brought the boys some presents for their birthdays. |

| Aunt Karla is telling Will how much she loves Fritos too. William was THRILLED she brought a bag just for him. |
 |
| After dinner, we sang Happy Birthday to Van and enjoyed rice krispy treats. |

When Scott, Karla, and Brittany left, William said, "I wish they could spend the night and stay tomorrow." I wish that too! Thank goodness we get to see them next month for the baptism.
Overheard at our house:
- Today William said to Karla, " I know what 3 times 3 is. 6." Van piped up, "Nooo. It's 9!" We were cracking up that Will got it wrong and Van knew the answer. William, trying to recover from his mistake, assured us, "I meant to say that. Van knows the answer because I taught him that."
- Van, one night, announced, "Raise your hand if you're gonna fart!" He then raised his hand and farted.
