Today was a pretty rough week. My students were on some sugar high from Easter.  This is the time of year where the students start to mentally check out and I have to stay firm and consistent. I was so relieved when Friday finally came.

Isaac had a presentation on Friday for his robot project for a company called Microchip. He made a lot of contacts with people that can help him get what he needs.

Lately, William loves to say, “I’m bored”, hoping that I will let him play video games. I just tell him to look at his chore chart and see what stars he can earn.

Van loves to give fishy kisses. He scraped his elbow on Wednesday when he was showing off his biking skills for the sister missionaries and crashed. I couldn’t stop smiling because I was so proud that one of my boys finally scraped up their elbow! Our kids are so cautious and never get injured.

We did a few fun things this weekend. Friday night, we sat in our friends' hot tub. Yesterday, I took the boys to Kiwanis Park in between conference sessions. We saw a mama duck with her baby ducklings. Today, we went to Daley Park and tonight we lit sparklers with the Wearne's. Van and I made some cheese pretzels in his easy bake oven. We also painted pictures with water colors and played with play-doh. It was fun.

Overheard at our house:
If Van wants me to answer a question, he'll say back and forth, "yes no yes no yes no" and whatever one he says last is the answer.
Last night Van fixed our family a snack plate for dinner. Lots of tortilla chips and baby carrots. He asked me to spoon some hummus on the plate. He said about five times, "Mom, are you so glad that I made this snack plate?"
The other day at school, William was visibly upset after lunch. I asked him what was wrong and he said, "Hulease bugs me so bad! I just want to punch him!" I added, "Well now you know how mom feels. I want to punch the daylights out of some of these kids." We shared a good laugh.

This was my April Fool's joke on the boys! I drew mustaches on their faces. Van didn't want me to wash his off so he left it on all day. His preschool teacher was cracking up.

Isaac brought me flowers on Tuesday. Tuesday morning, I was dreading going to school so he brought a pick me up--flowers and chocolate and a 10 minute music lesson for the students to give me a break. How thoughtful!

rough weeks always make me feel like, when Friday rolls around, I just need a good long layabout. I'm glad you got some flowers and some fun in this weekend. you're going to make it!

You guys are the funnest parents and live fun lives. I LOVE hearing about all the fun things you do! And the pictures are gorgeous and portray such a good looking family!! I love you and can't wait until June!

Hi family! It's been a while since I've done the Bickmore Buzz!! Here's the recap of the last five months!! JUNE: The Leasure's came to visit! It was so much fun! We took some weekend trips to St. Louis and Springfield. We saw the arch in St. Louis and visited the City Museum. In Springfield we did a driving tour of the caverns. Back in Warrensburg we did lots of e-bike rides, lightning bug catching, Minecraft crafting, talent show performing, and runs to Sonic. Sophie came house hunting with us in Kansas City and we found the perfect home. It's just five miles from work! When it was time for the Leasure's to return to Utah we all cried our eyes out.  Springfield Caverns I took a weekend trip to Utah to see my family. William Steven Bickmore

Lesley checked into the hospital and she was already dilated to a 5. William Steven Bickmore was born at 1:55 at 5'5"and 19" long. He is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Lesley is a champ she only got the "test dose" of the epidural and she was already at a 9. He has a low blood sugar problem so they have him in the NICU now and they are going to bring his blood sugar up. He is healthy and strong but he is a tiny little super guy. We love him and here is a video of his very first test. I tell ya they are starting to test kids younger and younger.

Dear Lesley, I wish I could accurately describe how in-awe-of you I am. Watching you give birth to Van was an amazing experience for me. In Spanish when a woman gives birth they say she gives light or que ella “da luz”. I think that is a more accurate way to describe what went on and a more beautiful way to describe you and your relationship to my life and to those around you.
