We had SOO much fun. It went TOO fast and I miss them SOO much! I loved getting to know Lana's younger two better. They've really grown up since the last time I saw them, which was for only a hot minute back in December. Clara is hilarious. She kept us all laughing. One time my mom was explaining to her why we need to look both ways to cross the street and she said, "I already knew that Grandmuh." Another time Lana ate a banana slice off Clara's plate and Clara started bawling. She then proceeded to say, "Mom, now you have to poop out the banana, scrape the poo off and give it back to me." There was a whole back and forth of why that wouldn't work. We were cracking up. Then Craig took her back to the bedroom to calm down. When she came back she overheard us talking about the whole debacle and she said, "Stop talking about it please." We quickly covered our smiles. I just love her spicy nature so much. My mom said I was like that...I had a smart answer for everything. LOL
Weston is a curious three year old. Craig calls him "The Destructor" because he likes to go around and destroy things. Ha ha! It reminded me of Curious George and made me miss my preschoolers. He loves to help! He helped me make pancakes, water the plants, and spray the kids on the trampoline. Will was getting stressed out about his legos because Weston kept wanting to break all the structures William built. I reminded Will that Weston is not trying to be mean and that the lego creations can be rebuilt. A good solution would be to place the stuff he doesn't want Weston to get into up on a high shelf. I also told him to play with Weston and distract him from the Legos. It's funny how my kids aren't used to little ones around. I'll miss hearing Weston say, "Yessss." and "Yes of course."
Nellie has matured so much and is going into third grade!! I can't believe it. She had fun playing video games with the boys and jumping on the tramp. Her arm was in a cast and she has a brace for her other arm. She did awesome managing all of that. On the drive to Missouri Nellie said, "I'm so excited to see Will and Van, I think I'm going to faint!" As we were saying our goodbyes she said, "I wish we could put Warrensburg in Utah!" ME TOO! I want to bring my small town, wide open spaces, green woods, and fireflies to Utah where my family is. The chiggers can stay here though. They're the worst!
I'm so glad we could get together. Lana said she loved not having to share us with everyone else. LOL. It felt weird getting together during the pandemic, but Lana and Craig both tested negative for COVID which eased our minds. We found that there was plenty to do outside the house without big crowds. The only thing that was crowded was the fourth of July parade and even that wasn't too bad. We made sure to wear our masks when we couldn't social distance (like the parade) and kept our hands washed. We ordered take out once and did curb side delivery. So, ya, we made some adjustments but it didn't stop us from having fun!

| Here we are at Powell Gardens. Hardly anyone was there! They have a splash pad that the kids played in. Nellie said that was her favorite part of the week! The weather was beautiful--cloudy in the mornings when we'd venture out. That kept it a lot cooler. |

William this morning said, "Mom, it's so boring when family isn't here."
